Spiritual Development | Rohini Ross - Part 9

Reflections on Love and Unity on Presidents’ Day in the U.S.

There is only one religion, the religion of love. There is only one language, the language of the heart. There is only one race, the human race ~ Sai Baba   Today is President's Day in the United States. It started out as a holiday commemorating George Washington's birthday on February 22nd, and was later moved to the third Monday in February to celebrate all presidents past and present. I choose this day to speak of love and unity.   There is tremendous division, anger, and upset over the current state of American politics both nationally and internationally. I have my Canadian and European friends...

Three Keys That Transformed My Marriage

I was surprised by how popular my post "Marriage: The First Ten Years Were The Hardest" was. It really struck a nerve.   For Valentine's Day, I thought I would share the three keys that allowed me to fall in love with my husband all over again, and help me to keep falling in love with him more each day. I love you Angus!   Understanding my husband's upset is never personal. Part of what contributed to the suffering in our relationship was how reactive I was to Angus' anger. I had no tolerance for this behavior. I judged him for his anger. I saw...

What a Relief — You Are Perfect Exactly As You Are!

Have you ever seen a self-help book or personal growth seminar that isn't focused on changing you? Every piece of marketing material that comes my way is tantalizing me to improve myself. The lure of being a better me with better thinking, better feelings, better achievements, and a better consciousness used to be so compelling, but it was also damaging. It painfully reinforced my belief that I was broken, damaged, and not good enough exactly as I was.   There are very few teachers telling people they are perfect exactly as they are. Not enough reassuring us there is no need to change,...

“What Is” Beats a Good Idea Every Time!

I have ideas about God. They are not God. I have ideas about spirituality. They are not spirituality. This is of course common sense, but I didn't realize how enamored I had become with my ideas about my spiritual nature. I noticed recently I was seeking to live up to my ideas rather than simply experiencing what is. My ideas about spirituality were grandiose and extraordinary; however, I now see that my experience of my spiritual nature is often simple and ordinary. I kept dismissing this effortless wellbeing looking for the fireworks.  I have experienced the mind blowing force of...

He Said, She Said: Angus’ Incredible Mind Reading Abilities

Rohini is shocked to find out that Angus feels triggered by her thoughts even when she doesn't say them out loud. This feels unfair to her, but she is reassured when Angus acknowledges that his feelings are a reflection of him giving meaning to his thoughts and nothing to do with her....

All You Need is Understanding — Love and Wellbeing Will Follow

Feeling very grateful to have co-facilitated a 3P Practitioner training with Linda Pransky, Carrie Sisson, and Angus Ross. We even had a special guest appearance from George Pransky. It was such a gift to meet human to human and explore the understanding of our human and spiritual nature. Teaching always forces me to open up to seeing more about the principles by stepping into the not knowing and sharing from that place. I see even more clearly now that there is nothing we need to do in order to experience the perfection and oneness of our humanity. We are all simply...

History Lessons From My Father and the One Solution for World Peace

My father was born in Jaffna, Ceylon in 1939. Ceylon was under British rule at the time and did not become Sri Lanka until 1972. While on vacation in Sri Lanka over the winter break, I asked my father about the civil war in his homeland and whether or not he thought the issues between the Tamils and the Sri Lankan government have been resolved. Sadly my father was not hopeful.   Over the course of our trip, my father shared an abridged version of his understanding of Sri Lankan history with me and his own story. It was on beautiful beaches,...

Wishing you a 2017 (or whatever number you label it) filled with love and blessings!

One of the items I had the most resistance to leaving behind while on holiday in Sri Lanka was my computer. Now as I write this, by hand, I am having resistance to getting back on it. It is a refreshing reminder of how habits can change, and how malleable we are as humans. I went from feeling like my world would end with out having access to my computer, to relishing the last moments of my vacation before opening it up again.   I can also feel the clunkiness of getting back into my writing groove. Although jet lag may be playing...

Taking the Easy Road: No Thinking, Just Doing

It has been a busy week in the Ross household. Our daughters have their final exams, and we are feeling the impact as a family. However, for the most part, moods are good. We are all looking forward to going to Sri Lanka for the winter break. We are meeting my dad, my step-mom, and my brother there. As many of you know, I did not grow up with my father. This will be an opportunity for us to connect in his homeland, deepen my understanding of my heritage, and share this with my family. I look forward to being in...

Relax! Your Personality is Just a Thin Slice of Who You Are

It is such an easy trap to fall into, thinking our upset comes from outside of us. I have done it and still do it at times. It is easy to buy into the illusion that we feel our circumstances and not our thinking. Our emotions flood our experience so quickly it is hard to see the role thought plays in creating our reality.   Just this week I got really flustered when a video conference link wasn't working. I couldn't get into the meeting room to join the group I was supposed to be facilitating. When it was happening, it felt...
